Dr. David Luu Opens Pivotal Session at Mount Sinai BMEII Symposium Featuring Scott Gottlieb and Whitney Casey

We’re excited to share that Dr. David Luu was invited to speak at the Mount Sinai BioMedical Engineering and Imaging Institute (BMEII) Symposium, where he opened one of the most anticipated sessions of the day.

Held at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the symposium was convened under the leadership of Professor Zahi Fayad, Director of BMEII, and Dean Dennis Charney, Dean of the Icahn School of Medicine.

Dr. Luu’s keynote opened a dynamic session that brought together Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former FDA Commissioner and prominent healthcare investor, and Whitney Casey, serial entrepreneur and Venture Partner at L Catterton, a leading consumer-focused private equity firm.

In his remarks, Dr. Luu highlighted the emerging field of longevity medicine—emphasizing how biomedical imaging, AI, and translational research are converging to radically extend healthspan and revolutionize preventive care.

“It’s an honor to speak between such respected leaders,” Dr. Luu shared. “The work happening at BMEII is redefining how we look at aging, disease, and the power of early detection.”

Dr. Luu also spoke about the need for multidisciplinary collaboration to advance longevity-focused innovations, underscoring Mount Sinai’s leadership in integrating advanced imaging, computational science, and clinical care.

As the founder of Longevity Docs, a global physician network advancing evidence-based longevity medicine, Dr. Luu continues to bridge the gap between clinical practice, breakthrough science, and real-world application.

The session capped a day filled with cutting-edge ideas, groundbreaking technologies, and a shared mission to reimagine human health through science and innovation.
